This Privacy Policy explains how Helpfl ("Helpfl", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Helpfl mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
The App is provided by Helpfl, LLC, located in United States, Alabama. For any privacy questions you can contact us at [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information needed to run the App.
Account information. You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. We receive an email address and a unique user identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive Apple's private relay address instead. If you use Sign in with Google, we also receive the name on your Google account and a link to its profile photo. The App shows that photo on your profile and keeps a copy on your device; we store only the link, not the photo itself.
Your content. The habits, tasks, routines, favorites, app-blocking presets, NFC tags (their names, colors, and icons), and related settings you create are stored so they can sync to your account. So is your history: when each routine was completed and how (a tag scan, a streak freeze, or a bypass), the time you reclaimed, your streak freezes and Time Extenders, any Vacation Mode or paused dates, and, if you started without a tag, when your "tag on the way" window began and ended.
Live Activities. While a routine's Live Activity is on your Lock Screen, we store its Apple push token, the routine's name, and its deadline, so our server can update the Live Activity when the deadline arrives, even if the App is closed. They are used for nothing else.
Screen Time / device activity data. Helpfl uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks to block selected apps and to unlock them once you complete the associated routine. The selection of apps and categories you choose to manage stays on your device and is handled by Apple's framework. We do not receive, store, or transmit the list of apps you use or block, and we cannot see your activity in other apps.
Diagnostic information. The App keeps a local "Shield Engine Log" of its app-blocking decisions on your device to help you troubleshoot. It stays on-device unless you tap Report an Issue, which uploads it to us with the App version, iOS version, and device model, and gives you a ticket reference to email us.
Kept only on your device. Your app selections, the name the App greets you by, your reminders (scheduled by your device, not sent by us), and in-app preferences.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos from your device, health data, or advertising identifiers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Store and sync your habits, presets, and settings across your devices.
- Provide the app-blocking and reminder features you set up.
- Process and validate subscriptions.
- Respond to support requests.
- Produce aggregated, de-identified statistics about how the App is used (for example, how common different kinds of habits are, or typical streak lengths). These statistics never identify you, and we may use them to improve the App and in our own marketing.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
4. How Your Information Is Stored and Shared
Backend hosting (Supabase). Account data and your content are stored using Supabase, a cloud database and authentication provider, acting as our data processor. Data is protected in transit using encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
Apple. Sign in with Apple, subscription purchases, Live Activity updates (which pass through Apple's push service), and Screen Time are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive your full payment card details.
Google. If you choose Sign in with Google, the sign-in is handled by Google under Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Google's sign-in component may also collect technical information about the sign-in, such as device identifiers and usage data, as that policy describes.
Links to Amazon. The App links to NFC tags for sale on Amazon. That is an Amazon Associates affiliate link: we may earn a commission, and Amazon may collect information when you follow it, under Amazon's own policy. The App itself sends Amazon nothing.
We disclose information only to these service providers as needed to operate the App, where required by law, or to a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this Policy will continue to apply until amended).
5. Subscriptions
Helpfl offers an auto-renewing subscription ("Helpfl Pro"). Purchases and renewals are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. The App checks your subscription with Apple on your device to unlock features; we do not receive your payment details. See the Terms of Use for subscription terms.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Me → Delete Account inside the App. Deleting your account permanently removes your habits, tasks, history, tags, presets, favorites, Live Activity data, and account record from our backend. Deleting your account removes your data from our live systems immediately. Residual copies in our encrypted backups are overwritten on our backup cycle and are fully purged within thirty (30) days, except records we must retain for legal, security, or accounting purposes. Problem reports you've sent us are kept after deletion, without being linked to you, so we can finish helping with them. Deleting your account does not cancel a Helpfl Pro subscription; manage that in your Apple Account settings.
If someone signs in to a different account on the same iPhone, the App clears the previous account's routines, tags, and app blocking from the device first. Signing back in to that account restores them from your account.
7. Children's Privacy
Helpfl is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can exercise deletion directly in the App, or contact us at [email protected] for other requests.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in the App where appropriate.
